Risk Make Sense

Carelessness is the biggest cause of the fire. So, considering fire prevention techniques and requirements does make sense if proper planning and designing about it are on the mind.
One thing I like about FCP is that it gives comprehensive plans specifically for my project - The National Ecology Center. Wherein, specific codes were aligned depending on the building typologies my development has. This is really essential to my project as it is a union of different typologies that compliment each other. The industrial context of the NEC requires different distances for fire exits which is 31 up to 46 meters, which is only 30 meters maximum for temporary accommodation buildings such as my Hostel Building. This is base on The Fire Code of the Philippines, Section 10.2.6.8 which tackles is about Fire Exits.
The Fire Code of the Philippines also considers the proper minimum to maximum dimensions not just of fire protection features, but of related precautions. Hence, advisable ingress and egress of the users were also discussed. This is to help them 'escape' the building when a potential fire occurs. The FCP ensures proper safety for the users themselves, as well as for its developers and designers.
Travel Distance has also been considered for Fire Code, it states that all exits shall be free from any obstruction, so people can exit easily whenever possible. In addition, all exits shall have side-swing or swinging door types, that continues up to the exit-most area of the floor. This section also states that six (6) meters will be the dead end, and anything more than that shall occupy a space.
The NEC has a number of buildings that also houses a huge number of users for it to operate, aside from its transient users which is dependable. With that, these buildings vary from an ideal number of means of egress to be efficient, my Awareness Hall, Exhibition Hall, and TESDA Education Building have at least Exits since its users are more than 500 but less than 1000 occupants. Admin office, SWM Research Center and Hostel Accommodation all got at least 2 exits since its users did not exceed 500.
On top of all, prevention is the main objective of the Fire Code, something that has to be prioritized by designers and concerned individuals.
