Upon reading the local codes related to Quezon City, the macro site I have chosen, I decided to be more specific on what local code I will be using. Thus, herein I have its Local Environmental Code.
The Quezon City Environmental Code, or simply QC Envi Code. It is an implementation that focuses on the protection of health and the right to a clean environment of its constituency as its primary concern of the city. (QC Envi Code, 2018) I preferred on choosing this local code as it greatly affects the field of expertise of my research.
This local code also creates policies of the city that promotes the preservation, control, and abatement of air, water, and land pollution and the spread of hazardous wastes in the environment, hand-in-hand with the sustained development of the city. Hence, a supporting National Code gives emphasis to this objective, which is called the National Environmental Awareness Act of 2008 - an act that promotes environmental awareness through education and for other purposes. Going back, the said code also gives input on how I will be able to consider and analyze all potential users of my project. Base on the code, it should start on the very macroscopic scale of the selection, which is the city itself. This pattern leads me down to the selection of schools nearby and far from the site - from which the data gathering of potential users form the schools will take its place. Universities and colleges also play a huge contribution from users. Barangay officials were also included as it has its specific teams that concern solid waste management systems and collection programs.
In the end, there are various local codes that are essential to the study, but the Quezon City Environmental Code showcases and shares different perspectives and simpler ways to help the project. This is a smarter way of sharing Environmental Awareness to a wider public, as it is the main goal of the project.
